Remarkably, Kaspars Berzins has made key contributions to Latvia qualifying for the past three EuroBaskets, averaging over nine points in each of the qualification campaigns, yet this summer presents the first opportunity for the power forward to pull on a national team jersey at a EuroBasket Final. Berzins has had brief flourishes outside of Latvia during his career but back at home is where he has produced his best basketball. Carrying a slender frame, Berzins can get out-muscled in the paint and may more often be found stepping outside to jack the three. However in a team stacked with potential snipers, Latvia will find him to be of a bigger contribution to the team if he remains inside. No relation to Arturs Berzins, or Janis Berzins.
