Estonia will join host nation Ukraine at EuroBasket 2015, comprehensively defeating Bulgaria 61-49 in the second leg of the EuroBasket 2015 1st Qualification Round final.
Taking to their home court on Sunday with a three-point deficit to overcome following a first leg loss on Thursday, Estonia set about making light work of it, running out to a 15-point lead by the end of the opening frame (25-10), then going on to conserve it over the remaining 30 minutes.
It was the sheer size of the artillery that Estonia brought which overwhelmed the Bulgarians, with no one individual standing out in the first quarter, rather six players chalking their name up on the scoreboard.
It was all the more impressive given the shallowness of Tiit Sokk's bench with the Estonian head coach relying on a nine-player rotation.
Bulgaria overcame the shock of the opening 10 minutes to show bigger fight in the second quarter, but the best they could achieve was splitting the frame 14-14.
It was a similar scenario following the change of ends as the shooting intensity dried up with the best Bulgaria was able to achieve was bring the deficit back by two, leaving them trailing 50-37 heading into the last 10 minutes of the competition.
Estonia then proceeded to start the final quarter like they had started the game as Gregor Arbet contributed four points on an 8-2 run to further stretch the divide.
To the credit of Bulgaria the fight remained up until the final buzzer as the guests set about undoing the damage from earlier in the period but they were left pondering the disappearance of their game 30 minutes earlier.
Rain Veidemann and Gert Dorbek led Estonian scoring with 10 points apiece whilst Kristjan Kangur chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.
The best of the Bulgarians with 13 points and seven rebounds was Kaloyan Ivanov.
