GAME REPORT

Greece Go Long In Win Over Georgia

Greece used the long ball and a dominating first half to knock off Georgia 79-68 and remain perfect in three games in Group C of EuroBasket 2015.

Turning Point: Georgia were leading 8-6 in the first quarter when the Greek onslaught from outside started with a 17-2 run for a 23-10 lead. Greece added a 16-2 surge in the second half for a 43-20 advantage and never looked back. Georgia inched their way closer and cut the deficit to nine points in the final minute but the hole was just too big.

Stats Don't Lie: Greece made just 28% of their three-point attempts in their first two games but nailed 10-of-17 three-pointers (59%) - against Georgia, including 9-of-12 in the first half. Georgia hit 7-of-15 (47%) from long range. Greece's reserves had 31 points to 18 for the Georgia bench.

Game Hero: Nick Calathes made four three-pointers in scoring 19 points to go with two rebounds and eight assists.

Bottom Line: Greece all but guaranteed themselves a spot in Lille's knockout stage at 3-0 as they will finish the group with games against Slovenia and Netherlands. Georgia dropped to 0-3 and shoot for win number one in the next contest against The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
